Alabama signees Alex Reese of Pelham and Herb Jones of Hale County are part of Alabama’s roster for the 27th Alabama-Mississippi All-Star games.

The girls-boys doubleheader will be played March 17 at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome on the campus of Alabama State in Montgomery. The girls tip at 5 p.m., followed by the boys at 7.

The roster, comprised entirely of seniors, also includes Mississippi State signee Garrison Brooks, who led Auburn to the Class 7A championship game. Darrell Barber, coach of Class 3A state champ Midfield, will be the head coach.

Notably missing from the boys squad is reigning Mr. Basketball and Alabama signee John Petty of Mae Jemison. Jaguars coach Jack Doss said Petty plans to use both of his all-star appearances on national games. Petty is committed to play in the Jordan Brand Classic on April 14 in Brooklyn. The NCAA allows high school players to participate in two all-star contests during the time between the end of their eligibility and graduation.

The Alabama girls roster includes Alexus Dye and Jayla Morrow from four-time defending Class 5A state champion Wenonah. Dragons coach Emanuel Bell, who is battling lung cancer, will lead the all-stars. The girls roster also includes Auburn signee Unique Thompson of Faith Academy, and South Carolina signees Bianca Jackson (Brewbaker Tech) and Haley Troup (Gadsden City).
