Wenonah’s girls remain undefeated, but it wasn’t easy.
Kaitlyn Rodgers led Wenonah (21-0) with 20 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, Alexus Dye scored 15 points and Jayla Morrow added 12 points and six assists in Saturday’s 64-58 victory over Homewood.
Wenonah is the No. 1-ranked team in Class 5A, and Homewood is the No. 1 team in 6A. Both are reigning state champs.
Wenonah led throughout 15-14 after the first quarter, 33-26 at halftime and 47-34 after three period of play.
Homewood’s Ajah Wayne led with Patriots with 24 points and 14 rebounds. Hannah Barber added 17 points and Shelby Hardy contributed 13 points and seven rebounds.
Wenonah returns to action Monday in Montgomery against Class 7A No. 1-ranked Jeff Davis in the MLK BallN Prep Girls at Faulkner University. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m Complete article
