“Through the week coach told u we could beat this team, and we had every intent to do just that,” Brown said.

Wenonah finished with 537 total yards, did not punt and did not commit a turnover.

“We had a good week of practice, one of the best weeks we’ve had all year,” Wenonah coach Ronald Cheatham said. “We knew coming into this game that they score a lot of points. We just wanted to outscore them and play good defense. We executed the thing we wanted to tonight and made the plays we had to make to win.”

D.K. Billingsley ran 22 times for 186 yards and two touchdowns for Scottsboro (12-1), but Wenonah’s defense limited Scottsboro to just 4-of-12 passing for 11 yards.
